Astrox 99 Pro Green: Geoffrey's review
The Astrox 99 Pro is THE racket for big smashers. In this 3rd generation, Green version, it keeps its DNA: power, and even more power.
What you'll feel
It is stiff and head-heavy: the weight in the head gives your smashes enormous speed and weight. Attacks are very plunging and the shuttle reaches the opponent quickly. It is a demanding racket: it requires you to be well-positioned and have a full swing, but once you have it in hand, it's a treat.
For whom?
Expert and competitive players with a very offensive profile, for singles to finish off points or in doubles at the back of the court.
99 or 77?
The 99 is stiffer and more head-heavy: more power, but more fatigue. The 77 is easier to play with over time. If you're hesitant, ask me!
My advice
It should be played with high tension, 12 kg and above, with BG80 or Exbolt 63 strings.
Choose your string, your tension, your overgrip color, and even your name on the shaft directly above: I'll prepare it in the workshop and it will ship ready to play.
